In Gyr Gel a place in the village Masazir of the Absheron district, a landslide occurred. Its size is 100-120 meters in length, and 50-60 meters wide. A house is at risk of collapsing, and the residents evacuated. This was told toTuran by the Chairman of the Municipality of Masazyr, Siyanfar Aliyev.
Experts from MOE and the Ministry of Environment inspected the landslide area. The cause of the landslide is thought to be groundwater, experts say.
A municipality head said that in the landslide area there are about 200 houses. There was a threat to five houses, but as a result of measures taken, the risk to four of the houses was fixed.
This is not the first landslide, last summer, the area was covered with gravel using 90 vehicles. "Landslides are prolonged, and the municipality cannot cope with this," said Aliyev. -03B04-
