Lawsuit is filed in Sumgayit on the fact of persecution minorities
Baku/18.01.14/Turan : Sumgait Police filed a lawsuit on the fact of physical and psychological violence , as well as the humiliation of honor and dignity of the head of the Alliance "Nefes” LGBT, Attila ( Javid ) Nabiyev .
The lawsuit was filed after Nabiyev met with the Deputy Chief of Police of Sumgayit, Suleiman Nematov and head of the inquiry department, Bahruz Hajiyev.
At a meeting with the police Nabiyev told about violation of the rights of gay, psychological and physical violence against sexual minorities , who, because of a lack of trust and guarantee anonymity , afraid to go to the police.
Atilla Nabiyev told about the threats against him for what he is leading an alliance of homosexual persons. He believes that impunity for crimes against gays leads to an increase in hate crimes.
Deputy Chief of Police, Suleyman Neymatov, in turn, said that the police provides a right to protect any citizen , regardless of they views and orientation. This is stated in a press release of the “Nefes” Alliance. -0-
