Major Theft System in Ministry of Ecology

The Office of Attorney General to combat corruption has revealed evidence of major theft in the Ministry of Ecology.

The report of the agency, received by Turan, said that a criminal case was filed against a group of officials of the theft on a large scale.

The theft was detected in the period 2010-2013 in the Center for Environmental Monitoring of Coastal Waters of the Caspian Sea. In particular, there was stolen 260,000 manat of the budget that had been illegally written off. These funds were for the repair of water treatment facilities. At the same time, there was revealed a shortage of materials and goods in the amount of 65,000 manat.

According to materials of the testing in 2012, during repairs at the treatment plant with the company Exiles STS there was signed a contract and the amount of work was artificially raised to 101,000 manat. The total amount of the looted funds was 183,000 manat from the budget. The case is prosecuted under articles about embezzlement and abuse of office.
