Mayor Office celebrates the event from the communist past
July 14, is not a public holiday, but the Mayor Office of Baku celebrates this day with a concert and fireworks on the boulevard.
This is how the power of the independent Azerbaijan celebrates the anniversary of the election of Heydar Aliyev, the communist leader of Soviet Azerbaijan. On this day in 1969 the chairman of the KGB of Azerbaijan SSR, Heydar Aliyev, was elected the first secretary of the Central Committee of the CPA.
The period of governing the Soviet Azerbaijan by Aliyev is controversial because, along with the development of industrial potential, bribery, corruption, cotton registry, fraternity and nepotism flourished in the country.
However, the current authorities of Azerbaijan instill the cult of Heydar Aliyev, dedicating to him a number of calendar days in the year, and the most of active is the Baku, mayor Hajibala Abutalibov.
On his order on July 14, a concert, which will end by midnight fireworks will begin the boulevard. -03B06-
