Media Rights Institute (MRI): The murder of Rafiq Tagi remains closed
Media Rights Institute issued a statement which condemned non-disclosure of the well-known journalist Rafiq Tagi despite two years have passed since his death. IPM accuses police that the investigation of the crime actually stopped. "Stagnation in the investigation of the case, and absence of effective steps is a serious concern," reads the statement. The MRI called on the authorities to disclose the crime as soon as possible, and to bring perpetrators to justice.
Rafiq Tagi was attacked on November 19, 2011, he was sustained multiple stab wounds. He was hospitalized and died in the Clinical Medical Center on November 23 of that year.
Rafiq Tagi was known for his sharp critical publications against the Islamists.
