Mehman Huseynov Needs Urgent Surgical Operation
The lawyer Elchin Sadygov met with the convicted blogger Mehman Huseynov on Friday.
"It's all right, do not worry about me," the lawyer quoted the blogger as saying to Turan. According to the lawyer, Huseynov keeps cheerfulness, although his health problems have worsened.
In particular, Huseynov has varicose veins with aggravated pains and there is a need for a surgical operation. The lawyer intends to apply to the Penitentiary Service to create conditions for the operation.
However, in the detention center, the transfer of books to the blogger is hampered. So the book by the American writer of Iranian origin Sahar Delijani, Children of the Jakarata Tree, was not allowed, called "forbidden". The lawyer called it illegal, because the book is freely sold in Baku. This book is about the fate of a prisoner in the Iranian prison, which the journalist Khadija Ismayilova translated into the Azerbaijani language during her imprisonment.
Recall that Mehman Huseynov was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment on charges of defamation on the suit of the head of the Nasimi police Musa Musayev. The reason for the claim was the blogger's statements about his abduction and torture by the Nasimi police. -03C06-
