Ministry of Environment Closed Access to Lake Goygol after Criticism
Just a few days after the opening of public access to Lake Goygol, the Ministry of Environment again denied access. The reason was the contamination of the Goygol National Park by visitors.
A representative of the Ministry of Ecology Department Vagif Javadov told the media that the people polluting the national park will be fined in the amount of 800 manats and included in the "black list" of offenders, which will be posted at the entrance to the park. To identify violators video surveillance cameras will be installed.
It is noteworthy that for many years, access to Lake Goygol was closed. A few days ago access was opened. Then, in the media and social networks there were photos of the contaminated area around the lake and accusations were addressed to the Ministry of Environment, which is unable to maintain order, set garbage containers and arrange timely garbage collection from the territory.
Similarly, the Ministry of Environment operated in the Shahdag National Park, where climbers had published photos of debris. The Ministry did not find anything better than to demand refutation of the obvious fact. After this failed, the "naughty" climbers under various pretexts were forbidden to climb in the area of Shahdag. -02D-
