One more lawyer may be deprived of the license

Baku / 21.12.18 / Turan: On 21 December the Disciplinary Commission Colleague of lawyers discussed a complaint against lawyer Elchins Sadigov with his participation.

The complaint was filed in September by the Prosecutor General"s Office. Then, the Prosecutor General"s Office distanced Sadigov from Yunis Safarov"s defense (accused of assassinating Ganja"s head Elmar Veliyev), accusing him of "psychological influence" on Safarov with the aim of giving false testimony.

Distancing Sadigov, the prosecutor's office referred to the private conversation of a lawyer with Safarov, which should be confidential.

Later, another document was added to the case - a letter allegedly written by Safarov on August 28 to the Prison Service, in which Safarov stated that he was not tortured, it just seemed to the lawyer, and he offered to file a complaint.

The lawyer requested the prosecutor's office to prove that such a letter was from the detention center - records from the registration book, postal data, transaction numbers. In addition, Safarov himself in testimony of September 1, confirmed to the investigation that he had been tortured.

In the end, the Disciplinary Commission did not take any decision. At the same time, the Commission will prepare an opinion, Elchin Sadigov said.

On July 3, a citizen of the Russian Federation, a native of Ganja, Yunis Safarov wounded the head of the city, Elmar Veliyev, and his guard. -05D06-
