Parents of Dead Soldiers Block Traffic on Tbilisi Avenue
Baku/25.01.21/Turan: At 12 o'clock, members of 17 families of the dead soldiers blocked traffic on Tbilisi Avenue, demanding a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense.
The reason for the action was the parents' dissatisfaction with their disrespectful attitude towards them. In particular, the relatives demand to bury their loved ones in the Martyrs’ Alley, where the war veterans are buried, and not in the Garadagh region far from the capital.
They came to the building of the Cabinet of Ministers asking to resolve this issue. There they were told that they would be received by Deputy Defense Minister Kerim Veliyev and sent to the Salyan barracks. When the parents came, it turned out that no one was waiting for them.
The outraged parents went to Tbilisi Avenue and blocked traffic for half an hour. After that, representatives of the Ministry of Defense went to the protesters and took them to an appointment with the leadership. -02D-
