The place of transnational gas projects in the economy of Azerbaijan, the transformation of wedding ceremonies into business, the reduction of industrial production, dependence on the oil factor are the leading topics of today's press.

The newspaper "Azerbaijan" writes about transnational projects and their role in the country's economy. The author writes that the work on the projects "South Gas Corridor", Shahdeniz-2 ", TANAP and TAP is executed on 35-90%. Further, the author gives more detailed information about the projects and their significance.

The newspaper "Echo" published an article entitled "On the wedding business in Azerbaijan". According to the report of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) published in January this year, Azerbaijan was in the first place in terms of the cost of weddings.

Wedding celebration in Azerbaijan today can be considered a business. All this has led to attention from the tax authorities. Taking into account the incomplete employment in the Holiday Homes, tax specialists offered a new form of payment - a monthly fixed amount for those employed in the wedding business.

So, singers, presenter, dancers, ashigi, parodists and representatives of other similar professions, performing at weddings and other celebrations, will pay 30 manats per month.

The newspaper Novoye Vremya published an article titled "Anxious bell in the economy". To stop the decline in GDP, as well as industrial production, this is what should be sought by any government that is looking for ways out of the economic crisis.

In January-April 2017, the volume of industrial production in Azerbaijan amounted to 12.6 billion manat, which is 6% less than in the same period in 2016, the State Statistics Committee reports.

According to official data, since the beginning of the year industrial production in the non-oil sector has grown by 2.8%, and in oil and gas industry it has decreased by 7.5%.

The "Yeni Musavat" newspaper discusses whether the dependence of the Azerbaijani economy on oil decreases. The economist and deputy Vahid Ahmadov believes that the dependence is decreasing.
