Official newspapers write about the results of Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Tajikistan, as well as Dashkesan and Naftalan regions of the country.

 

"Azadlig"

Only four political prisoners have been pardoned. It was another "act of imitation pardon."

The U.S. Assistant Secretary of State, Thomas Melia, admitted that tough negotiations on human rights are going on between Baku and Washington.

 

"Express"

Changes in the "Family Code" demand   from the marrying people undergo a medical examination and provide a certificate.

 

"Bizim Yol"

The newspaper criticized the poor quality of school textbooks, and comments on the act of clemency.

   

"Yeni Musavat" also comments on the act of clemency, noting the small number of released political prisoners.

 

Another topic of non-governmental newspapers is October 18 - the day when the Act was passed on the state independence of Azerbaijan in 1991. However, the current government do not consider this day a holiday.
