Preparing for the birthday of former President Heydar Aliyev, reducing bank lending, and the poverty level in the country are the leading topics of today's press.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about preparations for the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the birth of former President Heydar Aliyev. Within the jubilee, the newspaper assesses the activities of Heydar Aliyev. Making an excursion into the history, the author tells about his reign in the Soviet period and during the period of independence, as well as about his policy in the field of staff training.
The website Azadliq.info writes about the declining crediting of banks, which has decreased by 3.8 billion manat. This also affects the income of banks, which has declined by almost 30%.
The newspaper Novoye Vremya writes about the level of poverty. Recently, the World Bank has published a short report on the economic and social situation in the countries of the South Caucasus. According to the estimates of the experts of this financial organization, the poverty level in Azerbaijan is lower than in other countries in the region, but the number of poor still exceeds the officially declared level of 5.2%. Contradictions in the law on the subsistence minimum pave the way for manipulation when calculating the poverty level in the country. -0----
