Prosecutor's Office revealed no elements of crime in doctors' actions in Ogtay Gulaliyev case
Baku/18.12.21/Turan: The Prosecutor's Office refused to launch a criminal case against doctors of the City Clinical Medical Center and Baku city hospital in the case of providing medical care to human rights activist Ogtay Gulaliyev due to the absence of corpus delicti.
The Prosecutor's Office told Turan agency that the case was sent for further investigation on 25 January 2021 and closed in April. The basis for the refusal to initiate criminal proceedings was the conclusion of a special medical examination.
A decision of the Prosecutor's Office to refuse a criminal proceedings was sent by mail to the registration address of Ogtay Gulaliyev's family. In response to the information that the family has not received a decision of the investigation, the General Prosecutor's Office stated that the decision will be sent to the family by mail again.
The clarification of the Prosecutor's Office followed a letter from the Director of the Turan News Agency Mehman Aliyev to the Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev.-0-

A fire has erupted at the Experimental and Testing Production of the Scientific Research Institute of SOCAR (the state oil company) in the Surakhani district of Baku, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. "Thanks to the urgent and necessary measures taken by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the spread of the fire to neighboring areas, including nearby residential buildings, has been prevented," the statement reads. Efforts to extinguish the fire are still ongoing.
