Protest Action in Front of Azerbaijani Embassy in Tbilisi
Before the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia on 4 May there was a protest demanding the release of political prisoners in Azerbaijan.
The action was attended by representatives of international human rights organizations, civil society activists and journalists. They held banners with a slogan in English "Freedom to political prisoners!" and portraits of the imprisoned Azerbaijani human rights defenders Leyla Yunus, Rasul Jafarov and Intigam Aliyev and the journalist Khadija Ismayilova.
"Azerbaijan is in a very bad situation with human rights. We call on the Azerbaijani authorities to take serious steps for the release of political prisoners," said the representative of the Czech organization League of Human Rights Martin Dutkaivich. -06D--
