Protest of internally displaced persons
Baku / 10.10.19 / Turan: A group of internally displaced persons today held a protest rally in front of the State Committee for Refugees.
They complained about the emergency condition of the military hostel in the Garadagh region, where they were settled.
Earlier, the head of the State Committee for Refugees, Rovshan Rzayev, promised to provide them with housing in the new town for "Gobu Park" IDPs. However, the complex has already been commissioned, and the inhabitants of the military dormitory have not received apartments there.
"Where we live, there is no school, hospital, buses do not go. Thirty children cannot go to school," one of the participants said. A representative of the agency who came out to meet the protesters admitted that not all the inhabitants of the hostel had enough apartments in Gobu Park.
According to him, another 15 families will receive housing in the Umid complex under construction.
The official said that the department is ready to settle temporarily the dormitory residents in rented apartments, but they refuse.
The representative of the department also indicated that those who lived in emergency conditions in schools and kindergartens are primarily provided with housing. Gradually, all migrants will be provided with housing, the official promised. -21C-
