Protesting Family Member of Martyr Arrested
Baku / 12.12.18 / Turan: Togrul Gojayev, who was detained the day before during a protest rally by families of Martyrs, was arrested for 30 days. This was reported by his relatives.
Gojayev was found guilty under Article 535.1 (not subordinating to the lawful demands of the police) of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
However, according to other participants of the rally, Gojayev was detained by two in plain clothes and taken in a car in an unknown direction, when other members of the Martyr families were only approaching the Presidential Administration.
The families of Martyrs are outraged by the actions of the police and the arrest of Gojayev. For two months now they have been regularly holding actions in front of various state structures, demanding the payment of lump-sum compensation established for the dead soldiers.
Recall that in the spring of this year, President Ilham Aliyev issued a decree on the payment of lump-sum compensation to the families of the dead or missing during the hostilities in defense of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in 1991-97 in the amount of 11,000 manat.
The payment of compensation began on October 9. However, many families were denied compensation on the pretext that they received funds in the past. The unhappy citizens are encouraged to apply to the courts. However, to go to court, the family of a Martyr should receive an official rejection of state bodies, but they do not issue a written document.
The state-owned Azersigorta insurance company states that in the 1990s some families were paid compensation under the law on compulsory insurance of military personnel. The amounts of the then compensation amounted to 50,000-200,000 non-denominated manat, which is equivalent to the current 10-40 manat. -06D-

In 2017, the Sumgayit City Court ruled to evict the Aliyev family—refugees from Gubadli (Akper, Sarvinaz, Ramil, and two other family members)—from an illegally occupied apartment in the 12th microdistrict, Building 7A, Apartment 35. The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees. Under this directive, refugees without alternative housing cannot be evicted until they are provided with a replacement residence by the Executive Authority.
