Salary increase in SOCAR should affect everyone - M. Gahramanli

Baku/30.08.22/Turan: On August 19, the head of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, Rovshan Najaf,  approved the Rules on additional payments to SOCAR employees, the head of the Committee to Protect the Rights of Oil Workers Mirvari Gahramanli announced on her facebook page.

They define the upper limits of monthly payments for professionalism. Thus, the income of the president of the company is set at 13,008 manats (6,504 basic salary + 100% bonus), the first vice president is 12,360 manats, the vice president - is from 10 to 12 thousand manats, the heads of departments and their deputies are from 6,000 to 11,500 manats,  leading specialists - from 3.500 to 4.100 manats, general directors, their deputies, chief engineers and other employees from 2500 to 9050 manats.

The new head of SOCAR took care of the employees of the "Oil Industry of Azerbaijan" magazine. After the increase, the salary of the editor of the magazine will be 8.147 manat, the deputy editor - 7.155 manat, the chief accountant - 7.155 manat, the deputy chief accountant - 6.262 manat.

Gahramanli published all these data, referring to the order of the SOCAR President.

Turan's request, sent to the SOCAR press service on August 26, about how reliable these data are, was not answered. According to Garamanli, the SOCAR president's order to set high salaries only for the company's executives and staff is contrary to labor legislation and is discriminatory.

“Why should an oil-producing worker receive a meager salary, and bosses sitting in their offices 10 times more,” Gahramanli said. She believes that the order should be changed.

According to Article 157 of the Labor Code, salary increments should not be established due to the position or specialty, but to skill and professionalism. These criteria should be prepared and approved by SOCAR, she noted.

It should be noted that oil workers working in the sea receive from 1,200 manats. The highest salary for drillers of the 6th category is 2,800 manats. --03B--
