Baku/11.12.22/Turan: Two sick twin sisters Kifayat and Metanat Salmanovas, born in 1964, were beaten in the Gazakh psychiatric hospital, a relative of the patients, the wife of political prisoner Gulmira Aslanova, told Turan. The relatives learned about the beating of the sick sisters on December 6, when they managed to obtain the release of the patients from the closed medical institution. The sisters were brought home, to the village of Alimardanly, Tovuz region, with bruises on their faces and bodies. Kifayat and Metanat are seriously ill people from birth. According to Aslanova, it followed from the chaotic conversation of the sisters that they were beaten by medical workers Aygun and Melahat. There is no information about the date of the beating.

"The sisters are so frightened that when they were taken to the Tovuz forensic medical examination, when they saw people in white coats, they refused to get out of the car," Aslanova said.

The younger sister, Manzara, who took the sisters home, turned to the police, the prosecutor's office of the Kazakh region and the Ombudsman for Human Rights. The prosecutor's office sent sick women to a forensic medical examination, where, according to Aslanova, traces of violent actions were recorded. But the medical examiner's certificate was not issued to the Salmanova family. The local police did not deal with the case since the case based on a complaint from relatives will be considered by the investigative department of the prosecutor's office.

Turan phoned an investigator of the Kazakh prosecutor's office named Anar. He refused to give his last name. Anar said that investigative actions are being conducted, he will inform his leadership about the results of the forensic medical examination and other actions. According to Anar, he cannot give information to the press. When asked whether there was a fact of beating, Anar answered evasively, not denying violent actions in the clinic.

The attending physician of the Salmanov sisters, Shayasta Osmanova, in a conversation with Turan, categorically denied any violence against the sick, and against the Salmanovs.

“These sisters are seriously ill, they cannot do their hygiene needs on their own, they are not able to explain themselves clearly, therefore, whatever they say, this cannot be taken into account,” the doctor said. The sisters are always together from birth. They sleep in the same bed, push each other", make a scandal. The traces found on them are the result of the actions of the sisters against each other. The medical staff in our clinic treats patients carefully, following the rules. I go home after three in the afternoon, I may not know what is happening in the clinic in the evening, but I do not allow violence personnel against patients," said a doctor at the Kazakh Psychiatric Hospital.

Osmanova accused the younger sister of the patients, Manzara, of selfish purposes. "She dragged the Salmanovs out of the clinic in order to arrange guardianship for the sisters and take possession of the house and bank cards of the disabled sisters of the first group."

In the family of sick sisters, they are outraged by the words of Osmanova. As Aslanova said, even if we assume that the sisters beat themselves, then where were and what were the medical workers responsible for ensuring the safety of patients doing at that time? –0--
