State Statistics Committee on demographic situation in country
Baku/08/17/12/Turan: Since the beginning of 2022, the country's population has grown by 29,418 people or 0.3%, reaching 10,185,784 people by July 1. This is reported by the State Statistics Committee.
Note that 52.9% of the population lives in cities, 47.1% - in rural areas. There are 1001 women for every 1000 men.
In January-June this year, 61,234 newborns were registered in the regional (urban) registration departments of the Ministry of Justice, 52.7% of them boys and 47.3% girls.
In the first half of this year, the registration departments of the Ministry of Justice registered 28,785 marriages and 7,531 divorces.
The number of marriages for every 1,000 people rose from 4.7 to 5.8, and the number of divorces dropped from 1.6 to 1.5.
In the reviewed period, the departments of the Interior Ministry and the Migration Service registered 1,215 people who arrived in Azerbaijan for permanent residence, and 442 people who left Azerbaijan.-05D-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. By that night, however, the mysterious visitor had departed, loaded onto a cargo platform and whisked away to the airport.
