The head of the Constitutional Court did not accept the relatives of missing soldiers
Representatives of the families of more than 100 soldiers who went missing in 1991-94 in the course of hostilities in Karabakh, today held a picket in front of the Constitutional Court, demanding the payment of the due insurance.
They demanded a meeting with the head of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev, but instead of him, the protesters were received by the office representative Anar Jaafarli.
He promised to bring the concerns of the citizens to the leadership of the CC, the participants of the meeting told Turan.
However, it was reported that the consideration of the request of the Supreme Court on this case scheduled for July 30 has been postponed to mid-September.
According to the protesters, this problem is encountered by about 150 families. Of these, 20 people have found insurance compensation through the courts.
Another 20 people came to the Supreme Court, but the latter decided to appeal to the Constitutional Court to establish the validity of the issuance of insurance compensation for the dead and missing.
Previously, members of the families of the missing appealed to President Ilham Aliyev, the head of the Constitutional Court, the Speaker of Parliament and the Ombudsman, but these appeals did not produce results.
Last week, the desperate citizens turned to the presidential candidate of the National Council of Democratic Forces Rustam Ibrahimbekov. -06B-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
