K. Targay: Baku OSCE mission will continue to support democratic reforms
The head of OSCE Office in Baku Koray Targay commented on the decision of the OSCE Permanent Council to change the status of the representation from January 1 next year.
"The OSCE Permanent Council on July 19 reached a consensus on the OSCE mission in Azerbaijan. According to the decision, the representative office in January 2014 will be called "Project Coordinator of the OSCE Baku."
However, the OSCE mission will continue its activities in all three areas of the organization - political-military, economic and environmental, and human rights. Continuing to work with the Government and civil society, the organization will continue to contribute to the democratic reforms," said Targay.
As for the details of the future activities of the OSCE Project Coordinator in Baku, then, according to Targay, this will be reflected in the Memorandum of Understanding, which the OSCE will agree with the Government of Azerbaijan. -06D-
