The prosecutor offered to condemn facebook activist to six years

At today's trial  in the case of facebook activist, Omar Mammadov,  ​​public prosecutor took the floor. The prosecutor Erkin Gafarov convicted the accused of drug trafficking to six years of imprisonment in a penal colony. In response, Mammadov said that the criminal case against him was politically motivated. Coming up with a closing speech lawyer Khalid Bagirov. He said that the defendant's guilt was not proved. The investigation was conducted with gross violation of procedural rules. In particular,  operational information about the alleged drug purchase by  Mammadov was not verified. Operatives exceeded the powers taking over the functions of investigator and self operative activities were carried out without a court order. Finally, Mammadov was denied access to a lawyer after his arrest. Therefore, the lawyer said about the arbitrariness of law enforcement agencies. "However, Azerbaijan will not  be a North Korea,"  said the lawyer.  Then the judge Eldar Mikayilov repeatedly issued a warning to a lawyer. Finally,  the lawyer asked to  acquit Mammadov. Second lawyer, Alaif Hasanov, was not ready to  speech. Therefore, his speech was rescheduled for June 28.

*Nineteen-year-old Omar Mammadov is the leader of the youth movement "Akhyn" ("Flow") and member of the "Civil Solidarity" party.  After his arrest, he returned to  the NIDA Movement.

Mammadov was active blogger and one of the administrators of the page "Lists of AzTV" in Facebook ((https://www.facebook.com/pazaztv?fref=ts), which housed the cartoons, collages, comments ridiculing the vices of the Azerbaijani authorities.-1606B –
