Transplants of All Organs Made in Azerbaijan - Health Minister
During the first 9 months of 2015, 62 kidney transplants were made in Azerbaijan. Currently, there are 653 patients who have been transplanted various organs.
This year the clinics in Azerbaijan made 11 liver transplants, 55 operations of installation of artificial joints and 391 heart surgery operations for children. Twenty-two children underwent surgery for the bone marrow transplant. This was announced by the Minister of Health Oktay Shiraliyev at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on October 12.
Since June 1, all marrying people have been undergoing medical examinations. For 4 months blood tests were made on 52,000 people and 3,730 carriers of thalassemia were revealed, the minister said. -03D-

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. According to the Azerbaijan Border Service, this prevented an attempt to smuggle into Azerbaijan 11.3 kg of marijuana, 5.1 kg of opium, and 1,990 methadone M-40 pills from Iran.
