Georgia Does Not Intend to Replace Azerbaijani Gas - Garibashvili
Tbilisi / 13.10.15 / Turan-BS PRESS: The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili called absurd the talk about the refusal of the Azerbaijani gas.
The excitement about this began after it became known about the negotiations of the Minister of Energy of Georgia with the Chairman of Gazprom. The company said that the sides discussed Russian gas supplies to Georgia and its transit to third countries.
"Replacement of Azerbaijani gas is not a question. This is absurd. This is not true and I ask irresponsible politicians not to mislead people," Garibashvili told reporters.
The Prime Minister stressed that the review of relations with Azerbaijan is not planned. The countries have very close, friendly and strategic relations, and they will remain as such.
"How can you talk about the revision of relations with Azerbaijan? This is absurd," said Garibashvili.
Georgia has not been buying Russian gas since 2007 and its major supplier is Azerbaijan. But Georgia receives 10% of the total volume of Russian gas transit to Armenia. -02D-
