Trial of Former Minister of National Security of Nakhchivan
The Military Court of Grave Crimes of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) completed the judicial investigation in the case of the Ex-minister of National Security of the region Veli Aleskerov.
According to Turan's lawyer Vugar Hasan, the prosecutor’s final speech is scheduled for June 24. The lawyer abstained from detailed comments.
Recall that Aleskerov was the head of the National Security Ministry of Nakhchivan for 15 years. He was suddenly dismissed in December 2015. Shortly after that, a criminal case was filed against him on charges of misappropriation, misuse and abuse of power.
Later, Aleskerov was released under house arrest. But he was arrested again after he told the press about his innocence and torture during his arrest. According to the preliminary investigation results, Aleskerov is also charged with illegal wiretapping.
