Chairman Görgün: The HAKIM will extend from the Aegean to the Caspian
Baku/20.06.23/Turan: In a recent statement, Prof. Dr. Haluk Gergyun, the head of Defense Industry of Turkey emphasized the importance of the HAKIM Air Command and Control System, a joint project between the Azerbaijani and Turkish Air Forces. Gergyun noted that the system enables both countries to conduct joint operations and effectively control the airspace of Azerbaijan. The project's slogan, "Two states, one nation, one airspace," reflects the collaborative nature of the endeavor.
Once fully implemented, the HAKIM system will establish a joint airspace control zone extending from the Aegean Sea to the Caspian Basin. This will allow the air forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey to coordinate their actions and operate in a unified manner. The project aims to enhance the capabilities of both countries' air forces and strengthen their collaboration.
The HAKIM Air Traffic Control System plays a vital role in this endeavor. It collects and evaluates data from various sensors to create a comprehensive aerial picture. By employing advanced integration algorithms, the system offers operators diagnostic suggestions and provides a detailed understanding of the air situation. It also supports decision-making processes by employing threat assessment algorithms and facilitating the distribution of weapons against potential threats. The system's modular and extensible architecture ensures compatibility with existing and future systems.
Key features of the HAKIM system include network touch control support, sensor data management, correlation of traces and graph merging algorithms, creation of a specific aerial photograph, intelligence-based ATO/ACO/Flight plan/diagnostics, procedural airspace and air traffic control capabilities, threat assessment algorithms, network-enabled weapon control, interception geometries for air-to-air and ground-to-air operations, positive and procedural fighter flight control, and integration with external systems such as operational centers, marine elements, and ground forces.
The HAKIM Air Command and Control System represents a significant advancement in joint airspace control and coordination for Azerbaijan and Turkey. Its implementation is expected to enhance the operational capabilities of their air forces and strengthen bilateral cooperation. -0-
