Authorities Banned Lankaran Film Festival on Human Rights

Executive power of Lankaran banned Documentary Film Festival CAUCADOC.

Two deputy chief executive of Lankaran came on Saturday in the hall where there was a demonstration of festival films, and demanded an end to the event. Turan was the coordinator of the festival Teyub Mirgasimov.

The festival opened on April 5 Lyankaryane, within it demonstrates four documentaries about human rights in Romania, China and Ukraine.

 "Yesterday was the first film shown there, and attended by a representative of the executive power of the region.

April 6, two deputy heads of the executive branch and were told that the festival must have permission of the authorities. They offered to write a letter to the organizers, noting that the answer will be given in a week.

They also said that the first of these films will watch the representatives of the executive power. We told them that the law does not provide for such procedures, but they are forbidden to display them without conditions, "- said Mirgasimov.

Documentary Film Festival «CAUCADOC" was organized with the financial support of the European Union and the Government of the Czech Republic, as well as the Tbilisi office of the festival, the Azerbaijani office of Lankaran and voluntary association of legal protection. -03B04-
