Threat of Destruction of Archaeological Heritage in Sheki
At the village of Kichik Dahna in Sheki, more than 120 mounds of Ag Dere are being threatened with destruction.
As Turan’s regional correspondent reported, the population is cultivating the territory where mounds of historical importance are located. The mounds have information about astral mythology and representations of ancient people. The local government shows a complacent attitude toward the destruction.
Additionally, an unexplored ancient settlement dating between the Medium Bronze and Late Bronze ages was plowed. In particular, the top layer of the site has been destroyed. -0 -
