Turkic factor in world politics

Baku/18.01.23/Turan: Dmitry Chernyshevsky, a historian by education, former Vice-Rector for Public Relations of Saratov State University, former member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, former deputy of the Saratov Regional Duma from the United Russia party, believes that the Turkic factor is underestimated, that little is known in Russia about the role played by the Turkic peoples in its history.

There are a lot of videos about the history of the Great Steppe, the history of the Turks, including the history of Azerbaijan on the “Savromat” channel, which has been operating since 2012.

Today we are witnessing the growing importance of the Turkic factor in the Middle East region and in world politics. But why has it become so important right now? What happened?

Dmitry Chernyshevsky answers these and other questions in the “Difficult Question” program.

According to him, there was a scrapping of a large project (a concept for the development of large territories that have at least continental, and even global significance.

“Not every country can find such projects in its assets, not everyone is able to put forward. Russia had such a project in the post-Soviet space, connected with the Eurasian idea, the Eurasian Union, etc. He had some chance of being realized in the future. But given the role of the Russian Empire in this territory for the past 200 years. But first her war with Ukraine, this project collapsed. There is nothing left of him now,” Chernyshevsky said.

It is obvious that anything connected with the Russian Federation, be it the “Russian world” or Eurasianism, will not play any role soon, he believes.

“Across this vast territory of Eurasia there are only two projects left that are of a global nature. This is Chinese - from the Yellow Sea to the Black Sea - "One belt - one way." Behind this idea are great resources, the efforts of Chinese diplomacy, Chinese intelligence services and money. And another project is the Turkic one, which was developed a long time ago, but just in recent years it began to take on visible outlines,” he said, emphasizing that not only Turkey is behind this project.

“This is not so much a Turkish affair as a common Turkic one. But, not in vain it arose precisely in the Russian Empire. It was created by the Crimean Tatars (Ismail Gasprinsky (Gaspyraly) - a Crimean Tatar political and public figure, educator, and dissident - ed.) to unite the Turks of Russian citizenship," Chernyshevsky emphasized.

He did not rule out the possibility that "it is this project that has more chances to unite peoples in a single cultural space, which may otherwise be dragged to the backyards of the three centers of power - India, China and the European Union."--0--
