Accessbank supported by EBRD implements the first project in Azerbaijan on energy efficiency
Today JSC Accessbank signed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development a loan of $ 4.2 million, which will be used for reconstruction of the head office of the bank, a total area of ??9840 square meters.
EBRD loan will cover only 30% of the project cost, and the rest will be paid by the bank. After reconstruction Accessbank provide its head office in Azerbaijan first "green office" with the low power consumption. This system saves energy by 42% compared to the previous generation.
The loan is part of the EBRD's energy efficiency in the Caucasus region, which started in July 2007. The program in Azerbaijan provided credit lines to local partner banks for investment in energy efficiency.
To date, the Bank has signed 135 investment agreements worth more than 1.52 billion euros in the various sectors of the Azerbaijani economy. Investing in renewable and energy-efficient is a priority sector in Azerbaijan, the EBRD. In 2012, the Bank approved 15 projects in Azerbaijan, worth 81 million euros. -15D -
