Alfa Sigorta hopes for a breakthrough in the insurance of tourists
The insurance company Alfa Sigorta hopes for a breakthrough in the insurance segment of tourist trips . For this purpose it has established cooperation with the Tourism Association of Azerbaijan (AzTa).
According to the Head of the Business Development Department of the company, Alihusein Gasimov, who spoke to Turan, the quantitative and qualitative development of services has led to an increase in tourist facilities in the country , increase its share in the GDP, but it is poorly reflected in insurance in this segment. Thus, from January to December all insurers collected 1.75 million with payments of 273.48 thousand manats - it turns out that every citizen paid 18.4 gapiks ( $ 0.21) for travel insurance. In the former socialist countries of Europe , not to mention developed countries with established market , this figure is 10 times higher. The dynamically and extensively developing local insurance market cannot miss the chance to use the same extensively and successfully developing tourism, he believes .
To compensate for the losses, there was a joint awards ceremony for companies, most distinguished in the industry of tourism and hotel business in the past year. Prizes were awarded in the categories of "five , four and three-star hotels ," " the best travel agency in the field of inbound , outbound and domestic tourism", " best media promoting the tourism industry " and so on. According to Gasimov , the ceremony may become an annual event.
Alfa Sigorta received a license to operate in 1997. The sole shareholder is JSC Bank Technique.
The authorized capital is 7.78 million manat. The company provides more than 35 types of compulsory and voluntary insurance . - 17D-
