Armenia suspects Russian gas of low caloric content
The Armenian government is going to create the commission to study the caloric content of natural gas coming from Russia. The instruction has been given by the Armenian Premier Tigran Sarkisian.
It was said at the governmental session on February 20, 2014 that the commission will be created by the Armenian Ministry of Economy and it could be comprised of public organizations, reported Gazeta.ru.
The decision was made after the residents of various Armenian regions have complained about low caloric content of natural gas. In particular, a specific heat of combustion of 1 cub.m. of gas delivered by Gasprom company to Armenia could vary between 7,600 and 9,500 Kcal.
Armenia receives gas only from Russia. Gasprom-Armenia is the operator of gas supplies in Armenia. Earlier 20% of the company belonged to the government and the company was called ArmRosgasprom. On January 16, 2014 Gasprom bought 20% of the company on the basis of the intergovernmental agreement concluded between Russia and Armenia at the end of 2013 and the company has been renamed, reported http://rusenergy.com.--0--
