FOODS BECOME 30% MORE EXPENSIVE
BAKU/14.09.10/TURAN: Despite the declared deflation, the consumer prices in Baku grew by 20-50% in August 2010 against August 2009. Foods became especially expensive (+30%). Eggs rose in prices by 50%.
Experts explain this with the increasing illegal customs duties, monopolization and inflation.
The prices will most likely keep stable, but could gradually increase too (especially for bread and flour). --17D---
