Foreign Trade Turnover Increased at 5.1 %
In January -October 2013 the foreign trade turnover reached $ 28.8 billion, up 5.1 % from a year earlier. In this case, the growth rate of import was 15.8 %.
According to the State Customs Committee, in ten months of this year , Azerbaijan exported goods worth $ 19.9 billion, which is 0.93% more than in the comparable period of 2012 . The lion's share of exports (over $ 18,448 million , or 92.2 %) - energy (crude oil , petroleum products and natural gas) . The share of EU exports account for 47.1 % ( $ 9.4 billion ) . The share of public sector in the portfolio of exports is 93.3 % ( $ 18.6 billion ) .
During the mentioned period, the country imported goods worth $ 8 877.3 million is 15.8% more than in the comparable period of 2012. Imports of goods from EU countries amounted to $ 3,012 million or 33.9 % of imports. The public sector has 30.7 % ($ 2,728 million) of imports.
The foreign trade balance amounted to $ 11,044 million.
This year, Azerbaijan had trade links with 147 states of the world. It exported 1,915 items of goods and imported 5,960. The import- export operations employed 6,332 businesses, of which 3,616 were legal entities, including 268 companies belonging to the public sector. - 08D -
