Gross Agricultural Product Increased by 2.4%
For the first nine months of this year the volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan amounted in actual prices to 4 billion 614.3 million manat, of which 51.9% was the share of crop production, the State Statistics Committee told Turan.
The volume of production of cereals and leguminous plants totaled 2.8 million tons, 1.9% more than last year. Grain yield was 29.6 quintals / ha.
As of October 1, 174.5 thousand tons of maize crop were harvested from 29.6 thousand ha. It remains to harvest 17.8% of the maize acreage. Thus, taking into account maize, cereal production in Azerbaijan exceeded 3 million tons.
In addition, farmers produced potatoes - 871 thousand tons (+48.6 thousand tons), vegetables - 1 million 150.3 thousand tons (-22.4 thousand tons), and melons - 461.4 thousand tons (-20.1 thousand tons). According to the SSC, the yield from 1 ha of potatoes increased by 5 quintals, vegetables – by 3 quintals, and melons – by 2 quintals.
The production of fruit and berries (539 thousand tons) increased by 5.4 thousand tons, and the production of grapes (98.7 thousand tons) decreased by 13 thousand tons..
This year, the live weight meat production amounted to 341.3 thousand tons (+ 3%), milk - 1.5 million tons (+ 2.5%), and eggs - 1.2 billion (4.9. %).
During the reported period, the head of cattle increased by 0.6% and amounted to 2 million 720.8 thousand, and the head of sheep and goats did not change - 8 million 740 thousand.
According to the SSC, in the first nine months, gross production of agricultural products increased by 2.4% and amounted to 2.5 billion manat. Investment in the agricultural sector decreased by 44.3%, compared to the same period of 2015, and amounted to 173.3 million manat. ---08D
