Holiday Table Every Year Becomes more Expensive
The cost for Novruz for an average family of four is 147 manat, as shown by the Center for Economic Research. According to the chairman, Ghalib Togrul, the cost include mandatory items, such as traditional pastries, sweets, fruits and colored eggs for kids, rice with ingredients and consumed electricity and gas.
Baklava preparation costs 27 manat, for shekerbura (30 pieces),17 manat, and for 30 buns, 12 manat. Pilaf costs 30 manat, various attributes of the festival in the form of nuts, almonds, raisins and pistachios are 28 manat, fruit, 15 manat, and drinks (non-alcoholic), 10 manats.
That is the minimum. If someone wants to make dolma or another dish, the costs are higher. In 2011, the holiday table estimated by CER cost 134, and 2012, 141 manats.
