Interest in the lottery increases
In 2016, the state monopoly on lotteries, the JSC "Azerlotereya", has sold over 29 million lottery tickets (including 121.7 thousand e-lotteries), by 7.9% more than in the previous year, said the Ministry of Economy.
In the year of the crisis, one the manifestations became the reduction of real money incomes, and the population looked for "happiness" in lotteries. Income from selling the lottery tickets totaled 33.448.100 manat, which is by 5.7 million manat, or by 20.8% higher than in 2015. The amount of prize fund has exceeded 20 million manat (+ 11.3%), accounting for 69% of revenue from ticket sales. 08B
