In 2016, the state monopoly on lotteries, the JSC "Azerlotereya", has sold over 29 million lottery tickets (including 121.7 thousand e-lotteries), by 7.9% more than in the previous year, said the Ministry of Economy.
In the year of the crisis, one the manifestations became the reduction of real money incomes, and the population looked for "happiness" in lotteries. Income from selling the lottery tickets totaled 33.448.100 manat, which is by 5.7 million manat, or by 20.8% higher than in 2015. Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
