Ministry of Finance to Control Pharmacy Market
The Ministry of Finance has been appointed chief inspector of the drugs market. According to the presidential decree on amendments to the Law "On medicines", published before, not the Ministry of Health, but namely the Ministry of Finance will maintain control over the quality, effectiveness and safety of drugs in all phases (supply of raw materials, manufacture, storage, transportation and sale).
Experts believe that the transfer of control functions to an irrelevant ministry means that another minister has fallen from grace, which could lead to chaos in the market. Consumers are already facing the absence of certain types of medicines in pharmacies.
Recall that since September 15, state regulation of prices has been introduced for medicines of 1,057 names (this article is subject to more than 4,500). The website of the Tariff (Price) Council of Azerbaijan of the Ministry of Economy and Industry has published the lists of medicines and their prices. Until the end of September this entity is going to evaluate more than 1 thousand names of medicines on the basis of 55 active substances and by the end of December the sale of medicinal products must pass completely under state control. --17D-
