Production of Building Materials Increased by 13.7%
In the first eight months of this year, Azerbaijan produced non-metallic building materials totaling 312 million manats, which is 13.7% higher than in the same period of 2014, the State Statistics Committee said.
Cement production for the period amounted to 1 million 828.3 thousand tons, of which 200,000 tons accounted for August. The volume of production grew by 15.1%.
The production of glass fiber also increased (566.6 tons, + 3.1 times), as well as plaster (127.4 thousand tons, + 2%), lime (11.5 thousand tons, + 52.8%), artificial stones and bricks based on cement (100 thousand tons, + 85.5%), etc.
At the same time the production of asphalt, concrete and brick factories decreased respectively by 8.7%, 40.3% and 0.3% -----08D

Azerbaijan has attracted significant interest from companies in both developing and developed countries, as well as from state and private sector representatives of at least 10 nations, regarding participation as shareholders in the Climate Finance Action Fund (CFAF), which has a total budget of $1 billion. The Azerbaijani government has proposed that the OPEC Fund participate in financing several renewable energy projects, including offshore wind energy development, green energy corridor initiatives, and a 1 GW project planned by SOCAR in partnership with the UAE-based company Masdar.
