This year Azerbaijan has received a record corn crop - 181 thousand tons. According to experts, the increasing interest of farmers to this culture is associated with the development of livestock and poultry, as well as the food industry.
According to the committee, this year's crop is increased in comparison with 2011 by 20%. This is achieved in an increase of cultivated areas (+8.4%) and yield (13.4%). This year's corn fields occupied 35.9 thousand hectares. From 1 ha were collected 51.4 tons per harvest.
The Ministry of Agriculture told Turan the growth trend in corn production will continue in 2013. - 08B-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
