Subsidies from State Budget to Increase
In 2014, subsidies from the state budget will be (given the subsidization of the budget of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic) 661.7 million manat. This is over two times more than expected in 2013.
Physical growth of subsidies is due mainly to changes in alignment of the budget items. This year, for the first time the grant to the budget of NAR - 283.7 million manat - was accounted for in the overall structure of subsidies and current transfers from the state budget, the economist expert Rovshan Agayev told Turan.
The government subsidizes the activities of Agroleasing, the AMF, the State Agency on Agricultural Credits, etc.
The amount of agricultural subsidies provided to farmers for cultivation of land and compensation of rising prices for fuels and lubricants will make AZN 131 million ( +6.4 % compared to the year 2013 ).
Baku Metro has this year received a subsidy from the state budget in the amount of 28 774.6 thousand manats. This is 3.7 million manat more than in 2012. And next year, the Metro will receive from the government more than 36 million manat to cover losses on passenger transport, which is 25.2 % more than this year.
Public JSC Azerbaijan Airlines receives subsidy to cover the losses for the transportation of passengers on the route Nakhchivan - Baku - Nakhchivan. In 2012, the subsidy amounted to 7 million 553.6 thousand manats. This year the figure is expected to reach 9.85 million and in 2014 - more than 10 million manat. - 08B

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
