TANAP selects contractors for construction of compressor and measuring stations
The consortium Trans Anadolu Pipeline (TANAP) carries out the pre-qualification selection of services for design, deliveries and construction of compressor and measuring stations for TANAP gas pipeline, reported the consortium.
The volume of works includes design, delivery of materials and equipment, construction of two compressor stations (for the initial phase), four measuring stations and two reduction gears.
The companies meeting the following demands could take part in the selection (separately or as a consortium): meeting of the management system to the quality standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 1800, having no fines imposed by the International Financial Corporation (IFC), European Investment Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development or EU, US/UN, Azerbaijan and Turkey.
The companies-pretenders must have an experience in field of construction of objects in the oil, gas and chemical fields. They also must have an experience as a general contractor of construction of minimum two compressor stations with the capacity of 30 Mwt and higher, oil pumping stations or/and LNG terminals and /or power stations running with natural gas with the capacity over 300 Mwt and/or oil refineries with the daily capacity of refining 115,000 barrels of oil and higher in accordance with the international standards API, ANSI, ASME within the past 15 years.
The applications of the companies will be accepted on February 28, 2014. The invitation to the tender to the companies, which have passed through the pre-qualification, will be sent in quarter 3, 2014. The winners of the tender for the services will receive awards in quarter 3, 2015.
It has been reported that the TANAP gas pipeline includes the system of the gas pipelines with total length of 1790 km from the Georgian-Turkish border to the Turkish-Greek border, which consist mainly of the steel pipes with the diameter 56 inches (as an alternative of the pipes 48 inches), a short offshore section, the connecting lines, the crane junctions, the scraper cleaning stations, measuring stations, compressor stations and other infrastructure.
The documents for construction of the trans Anadolu gas pipeline were signed in Istanbul on June 26, 2012.
TANAP pipeline is designed to transport Azerbaijani gas from the Shah-Deniz gas Phase 2 from the Georgian-Turkish border to the western borders of Turkey. The carrying capacity of the gas pipeline will be minimum 16 billion cub.m., of which 10 billion cub.m. will be transported to Europe and 6 billion cub.m. to the western regions of Turkey.
TANAP project is estimated at $11.85 billion.
20% share in TANAP is owned by Turkish BOTAS, 68% by SOCAR and 12% by British BP.—0—

Data on Azerbaijan's oil exports for January-October 2024 reveals a significant drop in both volume and value compared to the same period last year, highlighting the challenges facing the oil-dependent economy. The country exported 495,484.05 tons of oil products worth $309.02 million, a decrease of 40.3% in value and 40.7% in volume compared to 2023, when exports totaled 925,225.07 tons worth $572.21 million.
