The number of unprofitable banks grows
Net profit of Azerbaijani banks as of April 1, 2014 amounted to 130.52 million manat ( 67.2 % compared with the end of the first quarter last year).
A year ago, the number of banks that have completed the reporting period with a profit was equal to 39 , now there are 34.
Nine banks have completed the activity with losses totaling 30.96 million manat. The number of banks that have completed the reporting period with a loss , increased by five , and the total size of their losses increased by 4.5 times .
According to the CBA, to April 1, 2014 a license to operate in Azerbaijan have 43 banks . - 17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
