Turkmenistan expands export capacities of gas pipeline to China
The state-run concern Turkmengas will conclude a contract with British Petro Gas LLP to build the infrastructure on the crossing of the second branch of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline with Amu Darya river.
Turkmenistan President Gurbangulu Berdymohammadov has signed the decree to increase Turkmen natural gas export to the foreign countries.
Construction is planned to begin in November 2013 and the object is planned to be put into operation in March 2015.
At the last session of the government Berdymohammadov confirmed Turkmenistan’s determination to establish an intergovernmental dialogue with China – a long-term strategic partner, reads the statement of the Turkmenistan government.
Turkmenistan is among the key players at the energy market in the Caspian region and it has been exporting gas to Russia and Iran for a long time. The route to China was opened in 2009 and at present China is among the biggest buyers of Turkmenistan gas and it is going to increase the annual import up to 65 billion cub.m. of gas.—0---
