Turnover of Securities in NDC Fell 56.5%
The turnover of securities in the National Depository Center (NDC) for the first eight months of this year amounted to 474 million manat, which is 56.5% less than in the comparable period of 2011.
According to the NDC, both the initial offering of corporate securities and their secondary market declined for the period. Whereas in January-August 2011 the NDC registered turnover of securities amounted to 229.4 million manat, for the same period in 2012 this fell to 220.7 million manat. NDC fixed placement of securities at 195.7 million manat, 632.7 million manat less compared to the first eight months of 2011.
Enviable growth (85.7%) was shown by the OTC platform of securities. During this period, 423 transactions were concluded on securities totaling 57.7 million manat. When the number of transactions increased by a unit, in aggregate terms, OTC transactions increased by 26.6 mln AZN.
Recall that the OTC market in Azerbaijan Central Bank was transparent all the time from the beginning of the 2000s to March 1 of this year. Then BSE closed the information abruptly without explanation. - 08B-
