Wind power station put into operation in Khyzy region
The first turbine of the wind power station Yeni Yashma was put into operation in Khyzy region yesterday.
The State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Sources of Power reported that capacity of each turbine is 2.5 MWt. It is planned to launch 20 similar turbines. The agency plans to launch one turbine every three days.
The wind power station Yeni Yashma has a productive capacity of 50 MWt.
According to the preliminary studies, within five years it is planned to build up to 100 objects to generate alternative power in Azerbaijan.
In 2014 investments into development of alternative power in Azerbaijan totaled 63.6 million AZN, of which 34.9 million AZN fell to development of solar power and 28.7 million AZN for development of wind power.—0—

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
