Global glitch in WhatsApp service
Users of the WhatsApp messenger (owned by "Meta" company whose activities in Russia have been recognized as extremist and banned) reported a failure in its service, according to the service data for tracking the work of Internet resources "Downdetector".
By 10:30 Moscow time on October 25, the number of reports on service operation problems in different countries has increased dramatically. For example, more than 183.000 of them came from Germany, over 60.000 from the UK, nearly 29.000 from India, about 9.000 from Indonesia, almost 8.000 from France, and about 3.500 from the USA.
Russian users complain about problems when sending messages, for example, two ticks do not appear when they are delivered and they do not turn blue when the recipient reads the message. Problems are observed both in the mobile application and the web version. There are also problems directly with connecting to the service.
In mid-October, there was a malfunction in the social network "VKontakte". Users from Russia and Belarus complained about the problems, in total, the "DownRadar service" received nearly 3.500 messages about the failure. Among the problems noted by users were a general failure, malfunctions in the operation of the mobile application, website and messenger.-0-
