Aliyev and Volodin confirmed strategic nature of Azerbaijani-Russian relations
Baku/26.09.22/Turan: President Ilham Aliyev received on Monday the Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin, who is in Azerbaijan on an official visit.
As Aliyev noted, the Azerbaijani-Russian inter-parliamentary relations are developing successfully. According to him, "contacts with the State Duma and the Federation Council are constant both at the leadership and the deputies level."
"This is a very important factor in interstate relations, which also have a very positive dynamics," Aliyev said.
"Everything we agree on is being implemented, including in the trade and economic sphere, in the sphere of information, communication, transport and others. There are 8 roadmaps that have been agreed and are being implemented, there is a clear schedule for the fulfillment of tasks and control over the execution in each direction," Aliyev further said.
Further he emphasized that regional security issues are always on the agenda of bilateral relations.
"We talked about this with the President of Russia in Samarkand. Peace in our region is necessary for all countries, all peoples. We have repeatedly stated that we are supporters of long-term, sustainable peace, solving all problems with neighbors and getting out of the difficult situation in which the region has been for 30 years," Aliyev continued.
Volodin, for his part, noted that the Declaration on Allied Cooperation signed this year, "is really a very serious level that has been achieved on the basis of strategic partnership."
"The declaration signed by the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan emphasizes that our inter-parliamentary ties should develop. Therefore, we will discuss communication formats, new approaches in order to make a real contribution to the solution of legislative support issues, as well as issues that are being discussed at the level of heads of state," Volodin said.--06B--
