An arrest period of the ex-Minister of Labor and Social Security was extended
Baku/14.09.21/Turan: An arrest period of the ex-Minister of Labor and Social Security, Salim Muslimov was for another three months, according to law enforcement sources. Note that Salimov was arrested in February this year by the State Security Service on charges of using official powers for mercenary purposes, abuse of public funds intended for the construction and repair of housing for boarding schools and the disabled.
Besides, the investigation revealed that Salimov received bribes from heads of subordinate structures in the amount of 10 to 30.000 manats.
It is noteworthy that Muslimov was a pensioner at the date of his arrest while charges against him go back to the period of his work in office in 2013-2018.
It is worth reminding that Muslimov was charged under Articles 308.2 (abuse of official authority which implied serious consequences), 311.3.2 and 311.3.3 (repeated receipt of a large-scale bribe) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.—06D-

Adalyat Verdiyev, the head of the civil defense staff at the public legal entity Center for Public Health and Reform under the Ministry of Health, and a military expert, has been arrested. On November 22, during a media tour to the liberated territories, Verdiyev filmed and published information and images on his social media accounts revealing Azerbaijani Armed Forces' combat positions in the heights, deployment sites, coordinates, and operational conditions of the border troops. This disclosure caused significant damage to the interests of state security and defense capability. This was stated in a report from the General Prosecutor’s Office.

On Monday, the Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov against the extension of his detention for another four months. The defense argued that the decision to extend Abilov's detention was unjustified, lawyer Fariz Namazly told reporters.
