ASALA Threatens Azerbaijani Diplomats?
On September 3, the Azerbaijani embassy in Hungary was notified by email, which contained death threats for Azerbaijani diplomats. The message was sent on behalf of the Armenian terrorist organization ASALA (Armenian Secret Army of Liberation of Armenia) and was written in Turkish.
It says that Azerbaijanis and Turks will pay expensively for the shed blood of the Armenians, and soon should expect payback. "If you think that releasing the criminal Ramil Safarov, you achieved a victory, then you are grossly mistaken," says the message. Azerbaijanis and Turks will be punished as they were in Khojaly.
First of all, retribution will befall diplomats, said the message, which concludes with a list of seven names - employees of the Azerbaijani embassy in Hungary.
Official Baku has not commented on this information, but additional measures of security were taken and protection of the embassy and its staff in Budapest was enhanced.
From informed sources Turan became aware of the appeal of the authorities to Interpol to identify the source of the message.
* ASALA is responsible for killing dozens of Turkish citizens (mainly diplomats) around the world. The attacks were carried out in 1970-1980s by Armenian militants in retaliation for the "Armenian genocide." -02B-
